I have a felony ARREST, but NO CONVICTION. It is SO stupid, but I made a mistake on a foodstamp application and I got arrested for it, NOW, even with my COLLEGE DEGREE I am having trouble getting jobs because of my "background". I even have a letter from my attorney stating that I have NOT and will NOT be convicted. HELP Is there anything I can do?

  1. The answer depends on the status of the case.  If the case is still in pending status, the employer can choose to base their hiring decision on the fact that the prosecutor may someday choose to proceed with charges.  Arrest records alone should not be used when considering an applicant for employment.  I would suggest that you get the case DISMISSED by the prosecution to finalize the case.
