  1. One thing that worries me on Valentines, is selecting something on the menu that is too expensive, but then I don't want to seem cheap either.

I would advertise a set price menu, don't have the prices on display (cause everything is the same, right?).

Ask people to book in advance, and get them to offer their credit cards when they are seated so as to avoid any uncomfortable moments when it comes to the bill (ie open a tab).

Ensure the menu is simple, unfussy and delicious. Sit people at right angles to each other and not opposite (much more intimate), keep the wine flowing, the lights low and the music chilled-out.

Avoid cheese at all costs. Such as rose-sellers and serenades.

And please, have all deserts in large portions with two spoons. Not too much heavy chocolate, think strawberry pavlova and fruit sundaes. Stuff you can feed each other.

Good luck, and I hope you'll be very busy.

  2. Offer special desserts based on chocolate aimed at the female, (devils food cake, death by chocolate, choc cheesecake, etc.)!

Name your courses and deserts with more romantic names!

Offer free glass of house wine (or medium priced champagne) with their meal.

The rose petals is a good idea.

Candles in a small posy of flowers on each table.

Make sure that most of your tables are meant for 2 only!!

Romantic semi-classical music as background, maybe even a romantic singer moving around tables serenading.

    Low lighting to aid romance.

Romantic decorations  .... red hearts, cupids

A red rose for every female diner!

Hope these give you some ideas, no need to try all of them unless to want to beat the opposition hands down!!

  3. give free wine to a lucky winner.

  4. decorate it with roses(red ones only)

    with satin ribbons and draperies.

add an extra touch with soft romantic music.

serve dishes which are emblems of love.

and give the customers full privacy.like no interference of the attendants in between.cause this is the time when two loved ones want to share or pour their feeling out on each other.

    so enjoy your valentines day.

  5. I'm in the restaurant business, but only as a server.  At the same time, I am a 29 year old woman.  I wouldn't go so far as to put rose petals on every table.  Maybe 1 red rose& 1 white rose, or even just a few carnations and of course a long stem candle.  But most importantly, depending on what you serve, offer a special menu of Filet and Lobster or Shrimp, a side of veggies (fresh broccoli, asparagus, or creamed spinach), maybe baked potatoes and salad or soup and of course warm bread with a seasoning that you add olive oil to for dipping, and a bottle of red wine.  Served for 2 not 1.  I would also include a  chocolate covered strawberry dessert.   Just figure a price and advertise.  Just make sure you have your best servers on staff that night.  I think for "Valentine Special for Two" a fair price would be $60.  I guarantee you would get alot of business.  Oh, one thing, you should have a back up in the case of a vegetarian.  Like, a Fettucine Alfredo with diced tomatoes, onions and peas still served with  an extra side of veggies and salad or soup.  Great soup choices, French Onion or Lobster Bisque.

  6. Mainly: at the door! Your arms filled with gifts! Such as Fresh Flowers, candy, and a card! Even a balloon or two! This way your not carrying everything around with you! Then go to a movie. Or find a place that does have fine dining and dancing!! The main thing is having a fun filled night! Than next time, go to the romantic restaurant! See your gonna spend all your money on this restaurant!! The main thing is finding fun!! Because than the hugs and kisses come easy!! In the moment thing!! :)

  7. A big beautiful vase of roses on every table, offer fancy wines, and dim lighting. :o

... Not that I would know or anything. >_> Rose petals everywhere seems messy, but as said, I wouldn't know.
