  1. Cole slaw and fries.  Mmmmmmmmm.

  2. macaroni and cheese...yum yum!

  3. Fresh roasted sweet corn!  Of course, dripping with butter!

  4. I am not sure how common it is outside of the southern states,,,but Pulled pork is commonly served with coleslaw as a condiment...

I serve homemade onion rings with mine..

slice onion and separate into rings....cover with milk and let set for 30 mins..dredge in a combination of  equal amounts cornmeal  & flour seasoned to taste with s&p...deep fry until brown.

  5. grilled pineapple

  6. Corn on the cob is the most common side at a pig roast. That and bbq baked beans. Use the pork fat to flavor the beans.

  7. sweet potatos

  8. French fries,  pasta salad,  corn on the cob, Jello salad, fruit salad.  All work for me.

  9. Baked beans would be great...but I think steamed squash and zucchini with butter would be great and give lots of color!

  10. Baked beans & cornbread!  :)

  11. You got the cole slaw (put ON not on the side - Carolina style)

    Collard greens

    Black eye peas

    Fried okra

    Hush puppies

    Watermelon

    Sweet tea or strawberry lemonade

Are my southern roots showing yet?

Less southern style - fruit salad with mangos and papaya.

  12. Corn on the cob, for sure!

  13. garlic french fries, pasta salad without mayo( that way the acid in the vinegar cuts the fat in the pork, almost like wine does), fruit salad, chips to scoop up the droppings, another cool thing to do is make a little bar of things that people can put on their sandwich, like crumbled bacon, cheese, sour cream, green onions, kinda like a potato bar almost, Oh Oh there's another good one, baked potato, a roasted veggie salad would be good too!!! Have fun with your friends, hope I helped a bit.

    Good luck and Happy Feasting!

  16. Amy,

If it were me, and it frequently is, because I love good bbq, and pulled pork as well, I'd have the slaw, like you are, and onion rings.

I forgot about baked beans!  (until I saw the other answers.  They are right.  Baked beans are perfect. )

  17. Potato salad with mustard!

  18. Man everyone took my ideas. But amazingly enough baked beans are a must with coleslaw because they are so good mixed.

But baked sweet potatoes, pasta salad, just a mixed veggie salad with a little balsamic vinegar and a light drizzle of evoo, grilled veggies-assorted, fruit salad, and a brownie ala mode to top it all off.

Oh yeah how about roasted potatoes? Use sweet potatoes, red potatoes, and reg white. Mix up some olive oil with itallian seasoning, garlic powder, and toss with the potatoes. Sprinkle very lightly with sea salt.

  19. Maybe seasoned red potatoes.

  20. Baked beans, or corn on cob, or watermelon/cantaloupe mix. Don't forget the Tabasco!

    Dan
