  1. As an experienced horse rider, I would say that a horse mane should fall on either the left or the right side. One of those two. But my extremely FAT horse, Ginny, likes to wear it on her butt.

  2. Whichever side it goes to easier.  Horses will have a side that their mane goes to, or at least most of the mane goes to that side.  It's really hard to get it to switch and go the other way.  It really doesn't matter which side, just let it go the way it wants... but make sure all the hair is on one side.

  3. In english hunters it should be pulled and kept on the right side. Although if you are not showing there is no "right or wrong" side to fall on. Just whatever it was naturally born to fall on. Some horse [such as the gypsy vanner] have double manes [it falls on both sides]. Check your breed though it might have a standard side if you plan on showing. =]

  4. It's supposed to go onthe right side, but it doesn't a lot of times.

  5. It doesn't matter.  There is usually a dominant side that it falls on.  I would suggest to leave it on that side because it can be difficult to train it to fall on the other side.  If you do want it on the otherside for some weird reason or just half is on one side and half on the other braid the parts onto the side you want them on.  This will help way them down.  You could also put some kind of gel in it or at least do it when it is wet.
