Question:

What size Polarizing Filter would fit my 18-55mm lens?

I have only found a 52mm one, is there another size that should fit it?

  1. Well, if its a canon lens, or similar look on the front of the lens and take a good look at it. there should be a number on its own that says 58mm and it has an "O" with a line through it. that is the filter size that lens can accept. if you have a smaller filter, you CAN use it if you use a step down ring, but its generally not a good idea, since it ends up vignetting or cropping the final shot.

  2. Look at your lens in the on the front it will say what size it takes.  Look for the little 0 with the line throw it and the # that follow are the size you needs.  

    Here for example. Look at this camera

    Do you see on the bottom right the number upside down it have a little 0 with a line and then 58.  That means the size filter will be a 58mm.  

    Good idea getting a Polarising filter.  They are great and everyone should have one.
