I want to buy this http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_1998_Visonik+V103BP.html

I want so know what size amp I need to handle these, I was told to go off of the "RMS" it says that it "handles 500 watts RMS" Does that mean total for the two of them? Or is the like 250 watts each, Can you link me a amp that would go good with these?

  1. Number one, never buy subs in a bandpass box. Horrible sound. Either get them in a ported box for optimum bass output, or a sealed box for precision sound. But if I cannot sway you from buying those subs, this would be the best amplifier for them:  http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/I...

  2. don't waste your cash on those, you WILL be disappointed

a bandpass box already has questionable sound quality and you want to add to that will a s**+tty brand like that, it will sound even worse

when it comes to car audio nine times out of ten you get what you pay for- and you need to look for CEA-compliant brands which means that the amps have been tested and produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion and the subs can handle their advertised RMS wattage also (distortion is the main cause of speaker damage)

here are the top CEA-compliant brands

    Alpine (highly recommend)

    Bazooka (don't like their subs)

    Blaupunkt (don't like their subs)

    Clarion

    Eclipse

    Infinity (highly recommend)

    JBL

JL Audio (very good but over priced)

    JVC

    Kenwood (don't like their subs)

Kicker (the best in my opinion)

    MTX (highly recommend)

    Pioneer

    Polk Audio (highly recommend)

    PPI

    Rockford Fosgate (highly recommend)

    Sony (don't like their subs)

you want at least 400watts RMS if you are serious

here is a nice set of subs and a couple amps that would match up with them for about $400 and has 600watts RSM total

these subs http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_3867... with this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_8651... or this amp http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_5027...
