What size amp should i get to push 1 12in alpine typ r sub.?

  1. depends on the impedence of the coils to properly answer this question...for example if it is a dual 2 ohm type r..you would typically want an amp that puts out 500 watts rms at 4 ohms(if coils are wired in series)............ if in parallel..well nevermind most amps cant handle less than one ohm..........if it is the dual 4 ohm version it could then be wired in parallel for a 2 ohm load again ideally at 500 watts rms to get the full performance of the type r....................................

    look for this one for cheaper on e bay it will go excellent with your alpine type r.....im currently running a single type r 12 off off a 1000 watt alpine and believe me this alpine stuff works and is dependable


  2. it depends if it is a 2 ohm or 4 ohm sub. Get an amp that is close to 500watt rms give or take 100 watts, be sure it is rated for what ever ohmage your sub is
