0.75 Twin and earth Round Not Flat or you will not get a waterproof seal on the smooth bore gland.

13 amp waterproof and cold resistant cable is the thing to get.

how are you doin it,straight through the wall or clipped along the wall?you can do it in 1mm twin and earth quite happily,all cables are subject to weathering,by u.v.(the sun)or rain etcyou can do it in 3 core flex if you want......

500 watts will only draw 2 amps, so 1.5 mm will be plenty big enough. Twin and earth will be fine if it is fixed to the wall.

Check your local building codes! Even if it isn't the best idea, it required by law!...so... do that...
