  1. Depends on your leg and arm length and the size of your torso, how far you can arch your back and how experienced you are.

  2. because of the different frame geometries, there is no cookie cutter approach to this height=this frame size. go to your bike shop and tell them you want to start doing triathalons. they will help you get the right bike.

  3. There is a slight difference between a "road" bike and a "triathlon" bike, that being the seat tube (the tube that hold the seat).  Triathlon bikes tend to have a sharper angle to put the seat a little more forward over the bottom bracket (where the axle is).

A rule of thumb is to have the top tube (crossbar) 2-3 fingers lower than your crouch, and the back create a 45% angle.  But this is not necessarily optimum for you.  Even if you decide on having a bike shop fit you there are no guarantees.  FYI-at 6', your looking around 58 frame.

The advantage of purchasing from a shop is if you have problems, you can return it, just make sure of return policies...

  4. I  agree with "w w,"  I think getting to your local bike shop will pay off.... They can get you on a few different bikes so you can feel what is best.

    Good luck!
