  1. I would say get a 17 to 17.5 inch bike.  Leg length is also a factor so you could maybe get an 18 inch.

  2. Without shoe (bare foot), stand over your Top Tube. Like the top tube will be underneath your crotch. There must be a 1.5 of clearence for Road Bike. For MTB, 3-4 inch.

Go to this Trek Web Site and page 3:-

    http://www.trekbikes.com/pdf/owners_manu...

Open this link. Scroll down to Chapter 1, page -3 (Make Sure your bicycle fits you properly)

See the picture. This is Trek Manual. I think you should try 52" Road bike.

  3. I'm with MR. You talkin' BMX, MTB, road etc.? I you won't bother being clear you'll get c**p answers.

  4. There is no real standard for measuring bike sizes.  Thus, every manufacturer has there own way and no one answer is going to be right.  Plus, you don't mention whether your are thinking about a mountain bike, road bike or what.  Unfortunately, they are all different.

So, your best bet is to go to your local bike shop and have them fit you to the type of bike you want.  Unless you are a pretty well informed buyer, it is never a good idea to buy online where you have no opportunity to test ride the bike.

BTW - I'd ask to look at your shop's women specific designs.  Men and women have differently proportioned bodies.  Current women specific designs are built to take advantage of these different proportions and will be more comfortable over the long haul.

    Hope this helps.

  5. Different type bikes are fitted differently. What type of bike are you buying?
