I blew a brake line underneath the drivers side door so I need to replace the brake line going to the back brake but since I am doing this i am gonna go ahead and do both rear brake lines. But I dont know what parts to buy because I dont know what size brake lines they are. I have called several auto part stores and they say they have no way of telling they say I need to bring in the old parts but the delema there is that I am having tons of trouble getting the old lines off. So does anyone know the size of the brake lines for a 1998 fors taurus??

Thanks In Advance

  1. Most likely 3/16". Get a line cutter and cut the old section out. There is no way you will be able to buy the entire line anyways so just cut out a section and take it with you. You will also need to buy some compression fittings.

  2. probably 3/16 line.cut a piece of your old line off and show the parts man, he will know what size you need.
