What size cleat should you wear for football?

My normal shoe is a size 10, and i wear size 9.5's for sports, like when i go jogging or play tennis, and i had a pair of 9.5's for football too. This leaves a thumb sized space (width wise) between my toes and the shoe. But i run a lot and make a lot of cuts, (I play CB and a little FS) The 9.5's do okay for me, but if tighter shoes will make me shave some millisconds of my dash, ill do it. So would it be best if i wear 9's? Since that would be a perfect fit.

(I dont want any of that, "oh, it needs to be tight, but not too tight" or "Just as long as its comfortable" c**p)

  1. wear the size that fits you (duh)

  2. Wear 9's

  3. go barefoot

  4. Just as long as it's comfortable... you aren't going to go pro or anything.  Go out there and have fun with whatever size of shoe fits you best.

  5. stop worrying about shaving 'some milliseconds off' you 40-time and spend the time studying tape.  your shoe size isn't going to better your game..  that being said, wear shoes that fit b/c too tight or too loose is going to cause blisters and ultimately hurt your game.

  6. Big cleats wreck knees, small cleats bruise butts/hips. Medium cleats do some of both. Regards, Larry.
