What size dog bowl should I buy for my Lhasa-Apso ?

We are awaiting the arrival of our Lhasa-Apso puppy. If it is possible I would like to buy him a food dish that will grow with him rather than buying him a separate one later. I am looking at this food dish because I want Stainless steel for sanity reasons, and prefer a 'holder' : http://shop.bhg.com/product/bowls-feeders/60559/1-pint-dish.html

What size should I buy, the pint or the quart?

  1. Its not the bowl size that matters as much as the amount of food you feed.  look at the food you usually feed. it tells you the average amount per pound. figure what your dog will be grown measure out the amount of food it tells you to feed.  then you can see ABOUT how much you'll be feeding then. that way it is easier to decide what size bowl to get.

  2. 1 pint will be fine for him even when he's an adult. I use a 1 pint bowl for my Schnauzer mix and a 1 quart bowl for my Husky mix

  3. Small size, my 8 moms old is not a big eater.

  4. Pint is fine. You should measure the food he gets anyway, it's never going to be even close to being full.

Quart will be quite large for that size dog. I have quart-size bowls for water in my dog crates simply because there was none smaller in the style of clip-on I wanted. They never get filled completely.
