The cable will be underground (30m) in orange conduit. I was planning on using 1.5mm with 3 wires

  1. the amperage of wire depends on the amperage of the pump ie 10 amp i would use 15 amp wire

  2. Hi,

all power outlets require at least    2.5mm sq  cables  with  your 30M  you should be OK for voltage drop ....

so   use   A, N, E   ....  if in conduit (underground)   by at least 500mm  coverage  with  pvc warning  tape....ELECTRIC  CABLE  BELOW    ....single  ( building wire )  is what is required.....colour coded........usually Red  (active) Black (neutral )  and Green (earth ),   if you are using  all black to save on cable to buy, then the terminating ends have to be covered with colour code sleeves  to identify the cables.....

hope this resolves your query......by the way    are you a Licenced Electrician ????........You can get  fined for carrying out  electrical installations  without  the correct  licencing.....
