I'm getting a appy sport horse mare this week and need to know what size girth to get. She's 15.2 and about 1100 pounds with a rounder barrel than a slimmer one. Her saddle tree size is medium/wide and my saddle size is 17". I'm getting a close contact saddle. I'm not going to be able to measure her girth size and was wondering what I should buy?

  1. I would say a 50" or 52" girth

  2. i would phone the people who own her know and ask them what size, if not buy a 50'' and  get a girth extender then you can change it if to small when you have her. But a 52'' may fit her.

  3. depends.. ask the people you are buying her from

  4. I would get a 52" or 54" probably. You can also buy girth extenders if you get one too small, but if it's too big then you're stuck. I use a 50" girth on my 15.1, 1000 pound mare and it works perfectly. Good luck!
