  1. Nadke,

You need a wrist to floor measurement. From the first wrinkle behind your hand of your left wrist (if your right handed) measure to the floor while wearing tennis shoes. Make sure your standing completely straight up and not leaning one side or the other. Then go to golfsmith.com and ask on the forum what your driver and 5 iron length would be with that measurement. Every wood will be 1" shorter then the driver ie; 3, 5, 7, every iron will be 1/2" shorter, below the 5 iron, 1/2" longer above the 5 iron, until you get to the wedges.

Some people like all their wedges the same length. Some like a 1/2" difference between them. It all depends on the weight of the head and shaft flex.

Someone there will tell you. But the best thing to do is go to a custom clubmaker and have them evaluate your swing. They can make recommendations as to what flex for a shaft, what type of head, and also what type of grip would be best for you.

    Hope this helps,

    J

  2. you have to get fitted for your club length.

  3. There are many factors that go into sizing a golf club. Two people of the same height could have very different sized clubs due to; arm length, posture, build, and the swing.

If you go to ping.com you can do a static fitting for their sets, and it will give you an idea of what to buy.

The real way to get fit is dynamically, or in swing. Most professionals will do this for free when you buy the clubs from them.

  4. I just went through this on my 2 month quest to by new clubs.I'm exactly 5'7",and the charts and people at golf smith suggested -1/2 inch, but i talked to a buddy down in Florida who is a scratch golfer, said all your doing when you shorten the shaft is taking power away from the clubs,he suggested i had them fitted ,meaning how many degrees to bend the club head.once i did that i knocked 8 strokes off instantly, eliminated allot of miss hits.seeing how I'm in my 3rd year of really taking golf seriously i predict ill be in the low 80s this year compared to low 90s last year.Stay with standard length, but have them fitted, unless your like 6'4" or something.

Club fitting really is worth the money,Honestly

  5. My dad always told me when u stand it straight up it should go to ur belly button and it should be a little longer for ur woods and a little shorter for ur wedges
