  1. I don't understand what a stone is,but for your height 14 hand up to 14.3 sounds great. I am 4'9'' and I like 13.2 to 14 hand or so. At my riding school,I rode a 16.3 horse last weekend and he was way too big for me. Good luck in finding the right horse!!

  2. 13 hands is REALLY SMALL  to small for you, Plus I don't think they should be ridden by a adult

    14.3 15.hands is about right

    15. hands is a handy horse not big but small enough for you

and if built right , you can ride him for ever

13 hands is all most a mini... just inch short of one

Please don't your legs will  be dragging the ground

I don't think people here understand how SMALL 13,HANDS IS

  3. Both your weight and height are right for something in the 13 -14 hands range.

If you're still growing, something taller might be appropriate, but if not there're good reasons go stay with the shorter horses.  For example, if you get a big striding trotter and you're trying to post, you'll run out of leg height before the horse runs out of stride, leaving you standing and bouncing at the peak of the stride.

Ponies are known for being strong sometimes, so I'd stick with either a small traditional type arab or a quarter pony, rather than a true pony breed (though some are marvelous!)

  4. Im 4'11 and ride raceshorses that are atleast16+ hh. but I am technically a midget then :p but I dont know how old you are so if your not done growing and your like 13 or something, then you would want to get a horse you can grow into alittle like 14hh is good for you now but what if you grow up to be 5ft something? but it all depends on the horse too so if a horse is 16hh and he is really amazing and he is the right horse for you, then obviously size doesnt matter much in that case.

  5. well, 1st of all... how old are you? If you are 14 yrs old or so , and won't be gettin' n e taller, then I would suggest getting a horse around 15h's... I'd also suggest a well trained / dead broke horse... especially if your a beginner! If thats the case, then you def. not a young horse that is still a greenie & lacks training! ;) that would just mean trouble!

I am 6'1" and have a 16.3 Arabian/Percheron mare (interesting cross, I know... luv her to death!), and she has a nice wide barrel & fit's me really well! :)
