  1. i think it depends on your height a bit but i would say size 16 in the UK is fat.

i think a US size 2 is equal to a UK size 8...i think.

  2. I'm not sure about UK, but I live in US, and I think a size 8 is fat.

But it also depends a lot on age and height!! so It's hard to answer.

  3. Uk 12 +

  4. in the UK, like size 14/16

and no size 10 i the UK is a size 6 in the US

  5. Most newspapers seem to think anyone is fat even anorexics - no point in getting hung up on it - everyone is different!

  6. When you have an excess of body fat, especially round the middle.

So anything over 30% body fat or bigger than a 32 inch waist could be considered 'fat'.

  7. I would say it depends on your build, i am a size 14 in the UK and no where near fat. But i know of people who are size 14, smaller than me and clearly fat.

  8. It depends on your height. If you are 5'9 and a size 16 you are probably quite healthy and not overweight at all. However, if you are 5'1 and a size 16 chances are you are overweight. More important than just dress/pants size is the waist to hip ratio.

I have 'an hourglass figure' and the perfect waist to hip ratio. I gain and lose weight evenly. I was just as attractive at a size 24 as I am at a size 8. Its all in how you carry it.

  9. I think plus sizes in the USA begin at size 12 and up.

  10. It's not the size, it's how you look. A size 6 on a 5 foot girl would be big, whereas a 6 on a 5'9" girl is actually pretty small. So...

  11. I would say in the UK a size 14 and above is considered fat.

If you have time, please answer my question.

    Thanks.

  12. These days anything above a size 0 - in both countries. (Although a UK 0 would be a USA size 2 so that's superfat. - Does that mean that a USA 0 is actually u UK -2?)

I have seen magazines that describe a size 12 at "curvy".

    All sizes should be regraded:-

    0 -9 Months Decomposed

    2 - 3 Months Decomposed

    4 - Skeletal

    6 - Seriously Skinny

    8 - Skinny

10 - Skinny side of normal

12 - Slim Side of normal

    14 - Normal

    16 - Generously Normal

    18 - Very Generously Normal

    20 - Fat

    22 - Quite Fat

    24 - Seriously Fat

26 - Order Extra Timber for the Coffin Matey.

  13. I'm hoping not to offend anyone, but I'd say a size 14 in US.

  14. id say from a size 18 in the UK not sure in the USA though. im a UK size 14.

  15. you need to consider your height not just dress size.

the BMI is a good estimate (take weight in KG then divide by height in metres  squared) if its below 25 then you are normal weight if its 25 to 30 then you are either overweight or very muscled (the BMI makes no difference) over 30 you are obese and over 35 clinically obese (really grossly fat) .

most people under 30 who consider themselves fat are nothing of the sort but  have body dysmorphia and can often have eating disorders such as anorexia....

Size 10 (UK) and 5'8" is below the normal range you are NOT FAT!  If anything you are underweight
