What size is legal paper in the UK?

Okay I've been in the States for a while now so my memory is a little foggy, but I seem to recall that we have paper (longer than A4) that is used for legal documentation.

I'm guessing that it is a longer version than A4, or maybe even the same as size as the one here in the US. Does anyone know?

  1. Traditionally it always was longer for most Writs and Documents but these days everything is done on A4 (computers and printers!)

  2. Yes it is all A4 now so that it is standardised across the western world for faxes, photocopiers etc

  3. My friend works in a solicitors office and ALL the paper they use is A4.  But when she is doing the final version of a formal document she uses a cream(ish) colour paper.
