What size is life-size when talking about a life-sized doll?

Usually around 36 inches.  Most kids that want life size dolls are around this size, so they make them to be the size of a preschooler.

Depends on what doll you're talking about.

From what I've seen, "life-size" tends to be around the height of a 3 year-old child. In most cases, this isn't the TRUE size the character would have if s/he were real, but it's big enough for little kids to feel safer seeing it as a "friend", unlike tiny 12-inch Barbie. :P

it's usally the size of 3-5 year olds. but to older people they still are big.

3 to 4 feet. Some are larger though. But most are like 36 inches to a little smaller than 48 inches.
