Question:

What size is my septum piercing, how can I stretch it?

I got my septum pierced about three weeks ago and just recently came up with the question what size is it? I completely forgot to ask the piercer, he just showed me some jewerly and told me to pick which one I wanted and I did but I don't know what size it is. I want to know so I can buy different rings. I was also wondering if I could flip a captive ring in my nose. I bought one and was going to try it out but I don't know if I should take it out yet. And final question, how can I stretch it?

Here's a picture of it:

Thanks a lot!

  1. hard to tell from the pic but it is most likely a 16.

  2. it looks like a 16....and it looks really good by the way! how big do want to stretch it to? some of the larger guages can make breathing and sleeping difficult, so keep that in mind...also stretching a septum can be one of the most painful places to strerch....although it is very possible....I would let it it heal at least 3 months before trying to change the jewelry or it could lead to infection and having to remove it....but after its completely healed and if you wanna go with a stretching then definatly talk to a piercer that you trust and have them help you move up through the guages....

  3. its probably a gauge 16.

it shouldnt be a big deal to call the piercer and ask...

    looks good by the way.

  4. looks really cute !

    :)

    and i think it's either a 14 or 16 gauge .

And if you wanna stretch it, buy a taper or pincher.

just go to a local piercer and ask for one, they'll help you out with everything.
