  1. 20 lb be plenty with your drag set right

  2. 30 pound braid it is thin use power pro spectra

  3. 30-50 lb. braided line, like Spiderwire.  Better have some study hooks, too.  Fish that big will straighten out a light hook.

  4. 8lb would work, but your really on thin ice, go with 20-40lb test, and try to ue braid line, its nearly unbreakable

  5. I personally use 12 lb test stren line. You can use a braided line, but you also have to worry about that cutting into the fish.

Just make sure your drag is set right and don't try to horse them in.Also you might want to use a hair rig with a number 6 circle hook.Remember number 6 is different than a 6/0 hook.

Glad to see you're getting into carp,it's a great sport fish despite what so many might think.
