  1. umm im 5'3 and i have an 8 ft board that i love, its great when u first start out because its easier to get ur balance...but even after surfing for awhile i love my board still but once in awhile ill steal my friend's shortboard just for fun.  Id recommend an 8ft/9ft since ur taller than me.

  2. Try various sizes before you buy. See whay you are comfortable with...................

  3. 7'8" funshape  21+" wide

you'll be able to paddle it with ease and it's still short enough that you will be able to have a good degree of control while you're surfing and while you're paddling out.

You're light for you height and a longer board will knock you around in consistent surf.

  4. yeah, you need to try out different sizes before you buy a board, there are recomended length boards regarding your weight and height, but ultimately its what you feel most comfortable with. I would say around 8/9 ft, but have a look and ask your local surf shop if you can take it for a session first. Happy buying!

  5. Long board are easier to ride, because it's easier to get your balance. I would say get quite a long one, and as you get more experienced, get a shorter one. Hope this helps :]

  6. I would recommend that you rent some boards first.  Try out different sizes before you buy.  You might like a 7,8 or even 9 foot surf board.  Once you feel comfortable with a specific size then you can buy a similar one.  Remember it's cheaper to try boards out first than spending a lot then regretting it.  Have fun and enjoy some waves.
