  1. 17.5" would be best for you.  i think its going to be perfect for technical rides as well as longer rides.

  2. 19 is way too big for someone 5'8".

  3. Bike size has nothing to do with weight.

I'm 5-8 with a 30.5 inseam. I weight 175 if that matters to you... so we're about identical in size. I ride XC and use a 16.5 Giant hard tail frame. 18 and up would be far too big for you in general. The size does depend on you intended use too - XC, DH, FR or simple street riding. For technical trail riding/racing 16.5 to 17.5 would be the range. I'm not into down hill and big air but believe they use a little larger frame. Many people buy a larger frame for use as a casual ride around the 'hood.

  5. What is your inseam length?

Your frame size should be about 10" less than your inseam.

Go to the bike store and have them adjust the bike to you.

  6. maybe a 17 or a 19 it would also depend on your weight too.
