What size of dirt bike should I buy?

I'm looking to buy a dirt bike and I would like to know what size I should get. I'm 5' 4" and I weigh about 110. If you are experianced with dirt bikes and such pleas leave me some tips. Thanks.

A 125cc motocross racer is probably going to be too tall for you unless you are a pretty good rider already because you will have a hard time touching both feet on the ground.

Also remember on dirt the terrain is usually not flat so a beginner should be able to stand almost flat footed while you are on the seat. If you are really good then you would rarely need to put your foot down so it doesn't matter so much.

If you are looking for a trail riding bike, which is a good idea if you have very little experience than I think that the perfect bike for you is the Yamaha TT-R125 or the Honda CRF125F the little air-cooled 4 stroke not the liquid cooled 2 stroke MX bike.

If you want a bike that is a little more of a racer try the Honda CRF150R, its a mini moto racer and it is pretty fast.

Go to a motorcycle dealer and sit on the bikes. If you find one that fits you then go out and find a used one for cheaper because you will probably outgrow it just like the last owner, who is now trying to sell it did.

Don't get more bike than you can handle comfortably or you will get discouraged quickly, get something that's fun and easy to ride when you get better you can always trade up. I have taught lots of kids how to ride and race too and that was my advice to them and now to you.

You probably should not go for anything much bigger than a 125 your heigth probably wouldn't let you get anything much bigger than that. They are fun but be careful.

At your size I would go with a CR125 or one similar. 250 is pretty big. Then it depends on your experience,I like the 125.
