  1. You need to do a bit of math for that as a port is a calculated process:

    Port tube length calculations for round ports:

    input = Radius of Port (R), tuning frequency in Hz (fb), Volume of the box in cubic inches (Vb), (L) will be the resulting length of tube.

    L = (1.463 X 10^7 X R^2 / (fb^2) X Vb) - 1.463 X R

    You can actually do damage by not making the box to the specs of the subs or at the very least, look to what the manufacturer recommends for the type/size of enclosure to use.

  2. you cant just drill a hole a good ported box has like a tunnel on the inside of the box from the back of the speaker to the front and out . you might make it worse . your better buying a new box or try your way first and if you mess it up then you have a reason to get a new box. but you should go for about a four inch hole

  3. get more tweeters to get more sound!!!

  4. Spend the money and have a box made. No offense but if you had to ask that question you should seek professional help. You have to worry about volume in the box (dont forget to subtract speaker displacement, port displacement bracing etc.) port surface area and port length. You can get the spec's from the manufacturers website. Good luck.
