What size of snowboard bag should I buy?

My board is a 157, but I am not sure exactly what size of bag to get for it. I don't want to get a 157 because that would be too tight, but I want to get the Dakine Tour, and I am not sure if I should get the 165 or 175 because I want to have room for extra stuff. Would the 175 be too big then?

  1. take it to the place and they will fit you with a bag that fits....

  2. Go with the 165.  You can probably fit your boots in there over the board no problem and it has pockets for other stuff.  The 175 would be overkill.

  3. My brother, who is a boarding instructor in CO, said to get the Dakine 165 High Roller Bag. He said that he can't even pack it full. He has a 155 something or other brand board. It's funny that I happened to be on the phone with him, telling him to check this forum out!

  4. I Just got the Dakine Tour bag! My board is also 157, and it fits perfectly in the bag. It is not too tight, but you also dont want it to be moving around inside your bag, it is best if you just get the 157. There is plenty of space to put everything in that bag. You have double boot pockets. Your boots are not likely to take up all the space in there, so you can stuff some small items in there.

You will have plenty of space in the middle (between your bindings) to stuff your jacket, snowpants and whatever you need.

The bag is pretty big already, so a 157 should be good.

  5. What do you plan to put in there?  A lot of snowboard bags have compartments at the ends for helmets, boots, etc. If it doesn't, I'd still say the 165 will be plenty since the board itself is pretty much flat and you can usually stack your boots, helmet, gloves, jacket, etc on the deck -- the extra length is just wasted. If you're buying this at a store, go bring all your junk in there and try it out first.
