  1. i wouldn't know...im a vegetarian!

  2. Baby Backs are from any full grown pig matured to slaughter and it has absolutely nothing to do with young or older pigs. As a matter of fact it just the promotion from the food industry to premium price the ribs they are neither more nutritious or tender than the other rib section of the pig.

  3. Baby back ribs aren't from a small pig...they are from a particular area of the ribs, from a grown pig.

  4. They do not come from piglets.

They are the rack of ribs that you see as "one" on a pork chop.

The loin is deboned and the center is the strip, of which Canadian Bacon is made.

It resembles the Fillet of beef.

Veal is NOT a young calf.

These days a cow is penned up, no excerise, half starved so it becomes anemic and the meat turns a pale pink, like young veal.

I haven't eaten "veal" in years.  It's not veal.

  5. Baby Back Ribs are located on the loin of the hog.  They are

basically the spine and part of the ribs.  They are cut when you

"take" the loin off of the backbone.

The name comes not from the age of the hog, but because of the small

size of the "ribs" compared to the larger pork spareribs.  Pork

Spareribs are the actual ribs of a hog.

  6. Babyback ribs come from a special breed of pig called a Shetland Snouter. They are 30cm high and are preferred by farmers with less land.
