Hi, I work and ride at a riding school and use the school horses to ride. Therefor i do not know what size saddle to get cause really it would have to fit me and most horses. I am looking at buying a Kincade Redi Ride All Purpose Saddle. Your answer would be very much appriciated. Thank-you

  1. Well the size of the saddle has to do with your size. But I think you mean what type of tree should be in the saddle.  That is a a good question because the back types are so different.  A tree that has been adapted for a quarter horse will be satisfactory for schooling almost always.  However, if I am remembering right, the Kincaid is an English saddle and the tree really does not matter nearly so much.  Only one suggestion is if you are going to do any jumping at all or any trail riding, replace the stirrup irons.  Some of these cheap saddles have stirrups that can break way too easily.  But there again, for simple schooling it will probably be fine.

  2. This is a tough one. The seat size for you is easy to figure out but there is no saddle that will properly fit every horse. Some horses have high withers, others low withers, Some horses have wide backs, others narrow backs. If the saddle does not fit properly it will pinch or rub the withers or cause pressure sores on the back or put pressure on the horse's spine - ouch! Go here for some info on saddle fit:

  3. Well the seat size is whatever size is you, the best thing to do is to get a regular size tree and just hope it fits most horses. Change up the pads if need be. Or you could get a wintec which allows you to change the tree size from wide, regular, etc.

  4. a treeless saddle is a good idea cuz they can fit all widths, and are really comfy.

  5. Well you should get a saddle that fits you more in seat size and leg length. Then you can try it on the horse(s) you ride and determine if its ok for them. like what I do is I bought my saddle and when I ride different horses I use whither pads or half pads depending on how the saddle fits the horse. Hopefully you didnt get to confused with that answer. Sorry if you did but at least I tried. Bye

  6. It depends on your size and the horses size. I would say its best 2 get a horse, then get the saddle. Just make sure that you have everything you need for the horse and SOON get the saddle. Some stores will let you even try it on your horse right then and there.
