I'm 16, 5'9", shoe size 11, about 125 lbs and I'm an intermidiate boarder who does mostly freeride.

Specific boards would be helpful too.

Please do not give me frostyrider.com. I want human input.

  1. im right around the same height and weight. i would advise somewhere between 150-156 or 158. as for the boots try 1/2 size smaller because you do not want to be sliding around while trying to go down a mountain.

boards like the burton clash or atomic's hatchet are good boards for a good value.

  2. i dont no u tell me

  3. dude i love snowboarding, unforntunatley i couldn't go this year because i twisted my ankle. Anyway if you just go into any proffesional sporting goods store you could just ask them and they should give you the information you need. (get an element brand board their so sweet)

  4. i cannot personally give frosty rider to you, but i can give you the website

  5. As an intermediate rider you might be better off with an All mountain board that is leaning more towards the freeride side of things than a freeride percific board. As Freeride boards can be quite hard to ride as they are mainly designed for advanced riders and perform best when being ridden at very high speeds. So ive listed both freeride and also some all mountain boards you should check out

    Atomic Rapture

    Atomic Cold Smoke

    Ride Decade W

    Salomon Patrol W

    O matic Wigout

    O matic Boron W

    Arbor A Frame

    Burton Supermodel

    K2 Eldorado

    Forum Lander W

    Bataleon Locust

    Rome Anthem

    Nitro Pantera W

The size of board you need is around a 155, you may also need a wide board as your feet are quite large so the boards with the W after them are ones that come in wide sizes.

As for boots just go down your local shop that does a large range of boots and try on a number of boots made by various brands and go for the ones that fit your feet the best. Brands like Thirty two and Vans tend to be good for people with wide feet and brands like Northwave and Salomon suit people with narrower feet.

By the way you are right to avoid that frosty calculator c**p as although it is a good idea it can be very unaccurate at times. Good luck with the riding.
