  2. General rule of thumb:  Snowboard should go up to your armpit.  Too short and you will sacrifice speed, too long and you sacrifice control.  Good luck, it is a great sport.

  3. A 145 should be good.  If you can rent one for a day just to check it out I'd recommend that before you haul off and pour your money into buying a setup.

    I'm 5'6 and I ride a 146.  It turns super easily and has great control.

  4. Yeah you'd be fine on a 145, you could go slightly larger, but your a beginner, so right now a 145 would be great because its on the small end making it easier to maneuver and use...Im an expert snowboarder, 5 7'' and 120 pounds and i use a 148 so that board would be great for you...
