What size snowboard should i get get?

I am 5'9" and 140lbs and intermediate in skill. I haven't really been snowboarding long enough to tell if i enjoy freeride or freestyle riding more. So, I've limited my options to a 153 length and 156 board but can't figure out which one would be more versatile and better for both freestyle and freeride. Also, I'd like the board to last and be something I can grow into.

153 will be good for freestyle, but it will not allow you to grow into too much. But if i were you i would buy the 156 because you can grow into it and you cant still use it for freestyle if you want.

If it's a board that you want to grow into, then the 156 would be your best choice. It will allow for jibbing the park, but the length will also allow you to sherd the groomers and powder as well. But also spend the extra and get a good pair of bindings and comfortable boots as well.
