I'm starting in a couple weeks and I need one.

My "true waist" size is 31, but they only come in 30s and 32s, so what size do I get?

  1. stick a cucumber in your pants. that should bump you up to a 32

  2. I would get the 32 so you have room to breathe

  3. get a 30, you wouldnt want them to fall off!

  4. I agree with Jessie. 30, maybe 28. If you get a chance to try them on, if the 28 is wearable, go for it.

  5. well the last thing you want is a speedo that is too big.  try them both on and see which one is better.  i think they run pretty small so you might need a 32.

    and a sandwich!  youre teeny!

  6. A speedo is a spee-don't.

  7. 31 is an odd size no doubt, but you might actually be lucky. For most male swimmers the rule of thumb is one size larger than you're waist size for practice, and one size smaller for competition. For diving I would go with one size smaller at all times because you do not want drag of any kind, and of course you don't want a suit that is going to slip down or off when you enter the water. So go for a 30 or even 28 if it's comfortable.

  8. Go with a 30" suit.  It'll fit better and the extra snugness won't be a problem.
