  1. that sounds about right

but if your not sure go to a pet store and ask a worker there

  2. Assuming your tank is 1 foot wide (you don't say) then you have 3 x 2 x 1 = 6 cubic feet which is approx. 44 gallons. silver dollars will grow to 5-6" so if you were to have only silver dollars, then you could have up to 8 of them. taking the general rule of thumb of 1" of fish per gallon.

  3. That sounds fine for 6-8, it wouldn't hurt to get a couple of bottom feeders as well not plecos they will grow too big.  Silver dollars are herbivores and will love to eat your plants so it may be worth while getting natural looking artificial plants unless you want to keep spending money on real plants (expensive fish food!!)

  4. A good rule of thumb is 1 gallon of water per inch of fish, so just measure by how big they are and how many gallons your tank holds. It sounds about right though :)

  5. 1 inch per gallon is not always right. you cant put a 125 inch fish in a 125 gallon tank
