What size tent will I need to fit four adults?

I'm going to V and i need a tent to fit four girls.... Please can some help coz I'm clueless about camping... thanks xox

My husband and I go camping with our 2 kids, one is 12 and the other is 8. We have a 3 room tent and we could STILL use more room! It takes room for the ice chests, water containers, clothing and all of that. We also use cots because they fold up so small and it beats sleeping on the ground, plus under them we can store things to keep it out of the way. Take some cheapie machine-washable rugs along too for at the door to help catch dirt and as a place to hang damp/wet items over if they need to drip through the night., We also take along a small lock that will fit through where the zippers meet at for added security when we're away from the tent and for through the night.

I can't believe no one else has considered that four adults sharing a single tent, no matter how big, will be uncomfortable and cramped, and possibly grate each others nerves.

Unless they're intimate friends or close relatives they should have their own separate tents. And if you're not planning to ever go backpacking, and thus having to carry your huge tent on your back, then a three man tent is sufficient for each two people. The backpackers I know who meet up to hike together bring their own gear and sleep in their own tents.

Sounds like you are car camping. A four person tent will be fine. Leave all your other gear in the car.

Have any of the 4 of you been camping before? I would start planning NOW to get down the plan and what everyone is bringing. Know the weather and pack appropriately.

You might need a tent twice the size of a regular tent. It depends how big the girls are. At least twice the sze or larger.

Don't get a 4-person tent!  I would totally get a 6 person tent for 4 girls, as everyone will have stuff with them and you don't want to be crowded.  Try to find one that has an optional cover so that you can remove it if it's warm and see the stars.  Lots of them have zip-up windows, too.  

These are sold at most sporting goods stores.  

Other things:

A lantern

Sleeping pads (they go under the sleeping bags)

Towels (so you can wipe your feet off when you come inside the tent - it'll stay much cozier)

i would get a six man ent and then you will all have enough room to sit in there and sleep and not be totally cramped. it will say on it how many man it is!

,6 person 9x13 would be a good size and don't store food and girl smell good stuff in the tent at night, put them in the trunk of a car keep all of gods creatures' where they belong, outside of the tent

4 girls!!!!!! ok i strongly suggest a six person tent.  its a bit excessive but i found too many girls in a small tent can be a nightmare, and if its hot and humid and PMT then it will be worse lol :)

you can get ones with two rooms and a middle section so there is space for you, food, and bags.

it can be pricey tho but ebay will always have them :)

a four man tent would be the obvious choice but a bigger one like a six would just make you all the more comfortable. Hope you have fun camping and bring lots of bug spray!

i would get a 6-8 person tent... a four man tent will be too small for 4 girls to get changed in and with luggage there will be no room....

when you buy one on the box it will say how many people it can fit and buy one size up cuz they usually run small

in theory a 4 man tent. but id recommend a 6 man becuase u have more space :)
