Question:

What size thing should I put in the toilet tank?

I was told I could save water or something by putting something in the toilet tank. What size should it be? If it's huge, there's no point in flushing because it doesn't wash away the stuff. So I want to be sure of the size.

Thank you.

  1. 2 water bottles filled half full rocks

  2. I would try a .5 liter water bottle. I'm not sure how much water it will save in the long run, but I guess any little bit helps conservation efforts.

You could try a 20oz bottle, and if doesn't flush properly, use .5 liter. Or use several .5 liter bottles.

I follow the mantra: If it's brown, flush it down; if it's yellow, let it mellow. I may have to clean the toilet more often, but it saves a lot of money in water bills.

  3. a regular size waterbottle filled with rocks

  4. If it is an old-style toilet you can accomplish the same thing by lowering the float setting.  If it is a newer low gallon/flush model then you should just leave it alone.
