What size to get a slim, slender, short eight year old?

I bought an outfit for a little girl and I don't know if bought the right size. What do you guys think? She is 8years old but very slim and short. She usually wears a small in girls. 7/8 are too big! (she just turned 8... well she is 7, her bday will be on friday) I bought her 6x. do you think that will fit or should i take it back? I wont see her until it'd be too late to return the garment. WHat do you guys think?

My daughter is slim.     It was hard to find outfits that would fit--the pants were generally the problem in the outfits.  

If you go to stores like JC Penney, Dillards or Limited Too, they make jeans that are slim fit short, long, or regular.  

The best bet would be to go for a flowing top in her size and a pair of leggings.    This is stylish for girls her age.     I'd say buy the  7/8 top and look closely at the leggings to see if they'll fit.      Get some matching flip flops and/or a hair tie to match.    

Buy a night gown, furry robe and slippers.    All little girls like night gowns, robes and slippers.

Kids are very hard to size!  I have a daughter that can't wear any type of jeans or pants unless they are cut slim. Also look for garments with adjustable waistbands. Look for the word slim or adjustable waist on the tag.  Old Navy, Gap and Target usually have good selections of slim/adjustable waist bottoms for girls.    A 6X may work in the waist, but be too small length wise. Manufacturers make their garments a little different. Another thing to do is purchase a gift card from a favorite store.  Girls this age love to shop!

go with a 7. That way if it is a bit too big she will grow into it. Better to be too big than small

Ask her Mom what size she wears, and get a gift receipt just in case.  That way they can take it back if it doesn't fit  and get the right size.
