im stuck between 3 tv's a 40" samsung 720p LN40A450, 40" samsung 1080p LN40A530, and a 40" sony KDL-40S4100. the 720 is $997 the other two are $1199. can you really see the difference on a tv this size? is it worth spending the extra money? its not that much of a price difference, but thats $200 closer to my ps3. thanks!!!!

  1. If you get 1080p, the difference really matters on the bigger panels like 46 inches and above. At the 40 inch level, you probably won't see much difference. Better to look at contrast levels and the 100 mhz feature which reduces blurring on fast moving pictures.

  2. Hey buddy go for LG Scarlet 42" its fullHD, 50000:1 contrast ratio and lots more cool stuff believe me and can play DivX through USB drive.......well samsung cannot I have a samsung 37" series 5 TV.

  3. No real difference. The stuff inside is the same. Both brands are actually manufactured by the same company and the shell is added by the brand you see. Remember the mat (screen) is made in 17" wide strips so you need to get something that is either a multiple of 17 or as close as possible: 32" or 50" are your best sizes.
