My brother and I need them. We're both in mid-20s, I'm 6'2", 180 lbs, and he's 5'11", 150 lbs. Both of us are just beginners.

  1. Midplus head size(around100 sq in.), 10.5-11.5 grams, swingweight of around 320? Can't get too specific with it, though, depends on your preference, so demo first. I'd get a relatively cheap racquet to start- lessons are a much more important commodity

  2. It depends on both your styles of play, I buy my raquets from tenniswarehouse.com, they have every major tennis raquet company on their website and they provide descriptions of their raquets and what you get with the raquet and what level of play it's for. Check that website out, it's been really helpful to me over the years. I use Wilson raquets. Specifically the

Wilson K Factor KSix-One 95 (18x20). Have your coach help you out with picking them out.

  3. If you're just beginners, it doesn't really matter what you get.  Just find something fairly inexpensive that you can hit with.  And standard size (27") is fine.  At least, don't go shorter than that.  If you are just wanting to be able to get out and hit some, a cheap racquet will be perfect.

If you are planning on starting up on some lessons, you'll probably want to go with more of a tweener racquet.  These are racquets up to about 11 oz.  I would suggest something between 10.5 and 11 oz.  But as far as other specs on the racquet are concerned, don't worry.  Again, look for something inexpensive.  Just look through this list of racquets for stuff in that weight range.
