What skating music would be best for me...i'm running out of time!?

I need music in the next couple of weeks. I MIGHT be competing at Open Juvenile, but maybe just preliminary. I'm 14, 5'4" and pretty skinny, and I skate medium-slow (sadly- i'm working on the whole power thing). I have up to a double toe, but I don't skate very gracefully. Not clumsily- I just don't do a whole lot with my arms and torso.

I DON'T want Spanish or Classical music, as those were my last two programs. I was thinking some kind of movie soundtrack would be good. I don't want something too powerful though, since that would kind of overpower my skating. Does anyone know any good soundtracks? If you do, be as SPECIFIC as possible.

I'm totally open to other music too, if you know anything that might work. Thanks a million!!!

  1. "A Whole New World" - Theme from Disney's Aladdin

  2. Try Music Box Dancer.

That was my solo music when I was in juvenile. It's so pretty and graceful!

Here's a link for the song!

That link if Whole New World with no lyrics, but just as note from experience EVERYONE uses this piece of music!

    Good luck!

  3. Harry potter! Its a wondeful song... Are you competing at the Pueblo competition?? If you are email me! cuz I am too!!!!!!!

  4. Actually, there is "Flashdance", so there is a "love theme" instrumental called "Love Theme from Flashdance" by Helen St. James.

It could be the perfect song just for you......

  5. If your in a hurry, this site offers many precut, ready to skate, programs from all genres.  Some previews are offered online.  They also have a list and "skatability" rating of 100+ soundtracks.

  6. The Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings soundtracks have some nice stuff (but I'm not sure if these are overused these days).
