    ugh anything that won't

    MELT aww!!!!

  7. Well if you live here in NZ wouldn't you know?

Anyway, vegemite is more of an Australian product, most NZers consume marmite, but all foreigner hate these products & just can't understand why we eat them so I definately would not send them over to anyone overseas.

Whitakers chocolate (their choccy bars in the supermarket or their peanut slabs) - a great thing to send as this is a historic NZ company, being going since 1854 I think it is.

Buzz bars - you can buy them in bulk packs in the supermarket.   Richfields chocolate is another NZ brand.  Jaffa's.  Minties  ( I don't think these 2 are NZ products but I'm pretty sure they don't sell them in the US).  I know there's lots more but that's all I can think of right now.  You can also get chocolates in our tourist shops that are in the shape of a sheep or a kiwi, etc & there are loads of inexpensive things you can send from the tourist shops - fridge magnets, key rings, stickers, tea towels, etc & they aren't as tacky as they used to be either, some of them are quite funky these days.  I even buy my t-shirts from there as I like ones with NZ symbols & pictures on them.

The person further up is wrong, there are no restrictions on sending confectionary in the mail & I've never had any melt either.  They don't leave the mail sitting out in the sun!

Send them a Wing CD, that'll scare the bejesus out of 'em!

  8. mabye from american you could get her something like salt water taffy if you live near the jersey shore, or a yankees hat for new york thing along those lines whould be nice !

    good luck !

  9. maybe a pen, paper and, a stamp cuz my penpal, will not write back to me!

  10. Pineapple Lumps!! Or you could scout around your nearest souveneir shop and find a cool kiwi soft toy or some type of kiwiana. I'm sure the staff will be glad to help you.

  11. A piece of earth or rock from the mountain where they filmed "The Lord of the Rings". Frodo & Orlando Bloom were both there.

  12. I dont think that your allowed to send confectionary overseas without a lot of drama. Is it a female or male penpal? And what age group?

  13. I had a penpal from NZ years ago! She sent flat things, like rubbers(erasers) decorated with the NZ flag, or Maori charms, and yes even lollies once or twice. It was great fun! Post cards are cool, from different places on the island you have traveled to on holiday. By the way, my penpal and I stayed penpals for more than two decades before we FINALLY got to meet. She came over to the U.S to visit Disneyland. When we started having kids of our own we sort of lost each other. Shame. When she came to Arizona, she bought all kinds of candy she didn't have in NZ. I would send her Christmas ornaments, tee shirts with local places or sayings (in Arizona a favorite saying is, 'yes, but it's a DRY heat!'), stuff I knew she would never otherwise see.

  14. I guess you need to know your penpals interests. If they like sports, clothing, etc. then get something that fits into their interest. I think it;s cool that you asked. People love forgein gifts.
