  1. Nerite Snails are great at eating algae and are incapable of reproducing in freshwater (they need brackish conditions).  They are quite happy to live in freshwater, but you won't have to worry about a snail epidemic.  If you use sand as a substrate, Malaysian Trumpet Snails are a great choice-- they rarely damage plants and do an excellent job of aerating the sand, preventing it from compacting on roots.

  2. nerite

  3. Mystery snails are great I have kept them for many years, mine don't eat the plants all the time.  Just feed them some blanched peas (shelled), your fish will thank you as well!!! They certainly don't eat other snails.

You could also get a 'vege clip' and feed them some spinach they love it and it's great for their calcium.

Please try Apple Snails, or Mystery Snails they are a fantastic and interesting addition to your tank.

    Good luck!!!
