  1. Hognose snakes will rattle their tail and look similar to rattlesnakes but they are not poisonous

  2. There are many north american snakes that will "rattle" their tail when agitated. Ratsnakes, racers, bull/gopher/pine snakes, coachwhips... the list goes on and on, you'd do a lot better with a picture or at least a description of the snake's appearance and where you live.

  3. a bull snake (aka gopher snake)?

it has similar coloring to a west diamondback rattlesnake, and when it's threatened it makes a rattle-like hissing sounds, curves its neck in an "s" and beats its tail against the ground to make it sound like a rattler... but they aren't venomous.

  4. Cotton mouths will vibrate their tails among ground litter and leaves and they can sound eerily like a real rattlesnake.

  5. Lots of snakes will rattle their tails... lots.  So, I have no clue unless you have a photo.

  6. You've gotta be more specific. a picture would help. A lot of snakes rattle their tails. Look it up on the internet, " snakes that rattle their tails", because I honestly have no clue what snake it would be.

  7. Hiya !

When I first got him, one of corn snakes used to vibrate his tail against the side of his vivarium - sounding just like a rattler - if I disturbed him !

  8. it could be any even a black snake.  they do it to ward you off. so dont touch it, just leave it alone.
