  2. Sociology is all about the study of society as it is, how it came to be that way and how it will be in the future.

    It is important to know the history of society in order to understand what we are and how we can improve.  All perspectives of sociology look at the individual within society in order to understand the whole of society.

    Only in this way can effective social policies be made for the future.

  3. Sociology is about people and societies and I think it's important because we as a society need to be able to explain and analyze ourselves so that we can see the problems and maybe help make them better. We should just be able to come to terms with ourselves as a society.
