What software can i download for my sony dcr-hc30 cam?

i bought a sony handheld dcr-hc30 camcorder and i lost the cd software for it and my disc drive doesnt work on my computer does any one know were i can download a software to import the media from the mini dv tape to the computer with a usb cable?please annswer and ill give 10 points

Sorry you can't use USB to download video,

If you have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder….

Your dv camcorder needs a firewire connection (ieee 1394) in order to download video, your PC probably did not come with a firewire port, so you will have to buy one and install it, since most computers (except possibly brand new) don't come with a firewire port, your camcorder did not come with a firewire cord so you have to purchase a cord too. Your camcorder did come with a USB cord and that is used for downloading stills from your camcorder.

DCR-hc30 a miniDV vcam, must be FIREWIRE**-connected to pc to upload video thru video capture or video editing (VES)* software while vcam is on playback. Vcam-4pin->CABLE->Pc (4/ 6pin?). Before cable** purchase, note: DV or Firewire port of vcam is 4pin...check the firewire port of PC whether 4 or 6 pin. If none, procure firewire card: pci for pc or pcmia for laptop (Google).
