What software do I need to import video from my Hitachi DZHS300A camcorder?

I am not able to locate the CD-ROM disc that originally came with the camcorder and am looking to find software that I can download for free.

I think you'll be out of luck!  The DZHS300A records in MPEG-2 - it's a poor format for editing but most commercial editors can handle it.  I don't know of any free ones  - the cheapest I've come across is AVS Video Editor.
