What is the software that we can use to capture the recording we did with our videocam?

For example, if we made a recording with our videocam and we wanted to transfer into our PC, what is the software we use? If we also want to transfer this recording to DVD, what software do we use?

  1. The very best software you can get is Ulead videostudio 11, you can download a free 14 day trial that is totally unrestricted from www.corel.co.uk & it will do ANYTHING you want to do, if you like it then buy the full package which comes with what is probably the best user manual ever written, the manual gives step by step instructions in plain English and comes with the boxed version which is the same price as the downloaded version & Corel will email you the activication code for your trial version while you are waiting for the boxed version to arrive in the post. It is not too expensive and I have been using Ulead for many many years without any problems & their technical support is streets ahead of any of the opposition's. good luck with your movie making.

  2. It's a hardware problem, video needs a firewire connection. Since your PC probably doesn't have a firewire card (ieee 1394) you will have to purchase one and install it, then you will need a firewire cord, your camera didn't come with one because most PC's don't have a firewire port. Your camera came with a USB cord and that is for downloading stills. As for software, XP comes with windows movie maker or you can get something better, like pinacle 11 plus.

  3. Pinnacle. There are others but I would say its the market leader.
