  1. If you have Nero Express or Nero Burning ROM then you don't need anything else to perform the burn ... it actually sounds as if your DMA setting for that burner device is the real problem. DMA stands for Direct memory access and it allows your Cd burner to access memory directly without having to negotiate with the CPU first. It makes burning faster by freeing up the need to use the CPU to manage the process. For you to burn at high speeds DMA should be set to on. To get the burner to work with the DMA set to off, you will likely have to reduce the burn speed, assuming your blank CD will support lower speeds.

Nero has a DMA manager that allows you to turn on DMA for your burner...to get to it, go to

Programs > Nero > Nero toolkit..open the Nero DMA manager and put a check in the box next to your burner to enable DMA...you'll probably be prompted to restart the computer.

  2. No you don't really need anything specific.

Nero isn't bad other wise you can just go into where you keep all your pictures, highlight the ones you want to burn and then copy or move them into the disc drive file. You need to have put a disc in first.

Any type of data disc should work and if your really unsure just go to a photo shop and ask them and then buy it from your local supermarket because there often cheaper.
