What software that continues ur download after shuting down... pls help me..?

Question

ive been downloading audition @ nexon.com.. since im sharing the cable of the internet with my brother, i need to shut down my cpu... and lend the cable to him... the estimated time in downloading the setup in audition is about 15 hrs... that is why whenever i download,..and my bropther needs to use his cpu and surf the net.. my download always get cut.. and then i have start all over again... what software that continues ur download after shutting down the computer..help pls.

Well, I guess you can utilize Windows XP and Vista's "switch between user" feature: you can be kept logged in, but switch to your brother's account. That way, you can keep your programs (including the downloader) up and running, without s******g up your brother.

Most of the download managers such as FlashGet, Download Accelerator plus,... have resume download. Even after you shut down your computer. But in the condition that the site you're downloading from also supports download resume.

If you remove the cable from your computer it has no way of communicating with the internet.  The only way is to share the service by using a hub or switch and setting it up so both systems can use the internet service at one time. You can put a second network card into your system and set it up to share the service.  Your computer must be on to share this service just let it go into soft mode.  The best solution here is to get a router and set it up so you can share the service whether your computer is on or not.  Remember to download you must leave your system running with the program open and let it go into soft mode.  If your computer is shut down nothing will operate.
