What song did you have for the first dance at your wedding or which would you have?

My friend is trying to choose a song for her wedding and I have a few picked out for my own so I need to make suggestions without mine being stolen!

Why did you choose the song you did? Who chose it? Was it a joint decision or did one of you surprise the other? If you aren't married what would you choose and why?

i'm getting married in about 3 week's and were useing the song, So Much by the spill canvas. it just fit's us and when i heard it i new it was for us :) good luck on your searching tho, you always seem to fine what you looking for when your not looking for it. so maybe just listen to the radio or somthing like that . i never really hard of the band i'm useing till i found there song on youtube and it just struck me :)

We are doing a tango to Conquest by The White Stripes. We have had 8 private lessons so far and FI ends the dance on the floor!

We chose it because FI used to do ballroom dancing and we found the words to the song very ironic/funny for a wedding.

I'm getting married in December and we are going to use Aerosmith's Dream On. Not the traditional lovey-dovey, but good to dance to - and we both like it. It was a joint decision because we couldn't agree on anything (may I also suggest, Glory of Love and Right Here Waiting) and we heard Dream On while at a restaurant and decided right then and there.

We had loads of tears when choosing ours, for months I seemed to cry at soppy romantic lyrics.  In the end we couldn`t agree on one song, so we chose one each.

We had a list of songs so we asked the DJ to play the others at random during the night.

We both love that song and the lyrics were really fitting plus its a cheery song. We didn't want anything too soppy as we wanted something that would get everyone up dancing (take the spotlight off us!).

It certainly worked and that song will forever be in my heart.

I've just got home from my friends wedding and she had 'You Make Me Feel Brand New', the version by simply red.  Not sure why they chose it but it's a nice song.

I'm getting married in a couple of years and am going to have 'Lets Stay Together' by Al Green because A) I love Al Green and B) me and my fiance both love the lyrics to this song - they say it all.

An obvious one alot of people seem to have is 'From This Moment' by Shania Twain.
